Statement
I, Leung Kit Ting, was an S.5 graduate of Delia Memorial School (Glee Path) in 2004/05 academic year. I made my dream come true, which was to become a policewoman. When I entered this school in 2003, I needed to adapt to the new school environment as well as to maintain my academic performance. Luckily, with the help of my teachers and classmates, I got used to the school life quickly. I also actively participated in the school’s extra-curricular activities, which helped me to build up team spirit, to reinforce my self-confidence and to enhance my interpersonal communication skills. These are the necessities of being a policewoman. My favorite school event was the annual Sports Day. In S.4, I joined the teacher-student relay race on behalf of my class and got the Champion. After that, my classmates called me “Female Flyer”. I still remember this title as I was so impressed. My passion for sports helped me stay physically fitted which gave me advantages when I applied for being a policewoman.
I am now a policewoman who is responsible for patrolling on street. There are uncertainties every day and the ability to handle contingencies is a must to me. The cooperation between colleagues is also important. Some time ago, when I was on duty in the police station, I met my Mathematics teacher Ms. Kong who had joined the force as well. I just could not imagine that I could be the colleague of my Mathematics teacher, stationing in the same district. I was really excited.
Knowing that many Glee Pathers would like to join the police force, it is my pleasure to write a few lines and I hope my experience can help. If you want to be a policeman, self-confidence, good communication skills and good physical conditions are essential. Hence, you have to establish a healthy lifestyle and equip yourself with various knowledge and skills, for example, you should have regular exercise and physical training, learn more about social issues and improve your communication skills. If you want to leave a good impression on the interviewer(s), you can participate more in voluntary works to show that you are responsible for citizens and society. Meanwhile, some of the cases need cooperation between different departments. For the case of abolishment of building, team work is essential. If you want to work alone, being a policeman may not be suitable for you. As applying for a policeman is not easy, I hope all of you understand the job nature and your personality well, and get well prepared step by step.

Statement
Though,
it lacked a gorgeous and majestic library;
it lacked an open and spacious playground;
it lacked the fame and honour of an elite school.
Still,
we didn’t find our school being inferior;
we didn’t find any threats amidst diversity;
we didn’t find ourselves being worthless or unwanted.
In fact,
I learned the spirit of harmony in diversity;
I was so blessed by teachers’ compassion and tolerance;
I was well-trained and nurtured in the disciplinary team.
Yet,
I did not embrace the season of love;
I did not become the best of the bunch;
I got invaluable support to pursue my dream - a road in Chinese medicine.
I finished a master degree of Internal Medicine in the University of Hong Kong;
I am taking a doctorate degree in Chinese Medicine;
I have been a practitioner for six years.
Fascinated by the charms and convinced by the incredible clinical efficacy of Chinese medicine, I hope one day I can reach the level of Zhongjing, a medical saint and my role model, though the way is still long.
I established Bodhi Chinese Medicine Clinic, not only to earn a living, but also to be able to reflect and to feel, to gain confidence and to learn humbleness.
I joined voluntary medical services in India, not only to learn how to give, but also to have a chance to clear sinful Karma and to gain merits.
To be able to live my dream,
thanks Delia Broadway for all the blessings!

Statement
When I was studying in Delia Memorial School (Glee Path), I was a new immigrant. With the help and care of the teachers there, I got used to the life in Hong Kong and set my learning goals.
The teachers at Delia Memorial School not only taught us patiently, but also encouraged us to participate in different kinds of extra-curricular activities such as speech festivals, calligraphy competitions and writing competitions. Through these activities, we gained a lot of experience which was vital to our personal growth, studies and career development.
I like the learning atmosphere at Delia and cherish the close relationship with my teachers. They shared their knowledge and life experience without reservation and I learnt a lot from them. I am glad that I chose Delia Memorial School as the starting point of my education in Hong Kong.

Statement
I was born in Guangdong and migrated to Hong Kong with my mum in 1995. In the same year, I began studying in Delia Memorial School (Glee Path) and I studied there until S5. In 2002, I was enrolled at the University of Science and Technology majoring in Biochemistry. After graduation, I still wanted to continue studying. As I was interested in doing research in Science, I continued to study my doctorate degree at the University of Hong Kong, majoring in Anatomy. With the guidance of Professor Su Guohui, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, I did research on “The effect of doing exercise on stem cells in the hippocampus” and “The biological mechanisms of sports in the therapy of depression”. I continued to work there after graduation. Now I am working at the University of Victoria (British Columbia) as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on the treatment of Autism.
I strongly believe that only those who are willing to face challenges and are strongly motivated and hardworking can be successful. Though we may not be able to change the situation, we can always change our mindsets to overcome difficulties. Just believe in yourself and go ahead, my fellow schoolmates!

Be Proud, Delians!
